Thames Sailing Barge May

  1. Built in 1891 in Harwich, May was owned by the flour millers, Cranfield Bros. of Ipswich. Her early life was spent ferrying grain between their mills in Ipswich and the Royal Docks on the Thames. In January 1964 she was bought by Tate and Lyle and was used by the directors and their guests for entertaining from their central London Headquarters on the banks of the Thames. She is now privately owned by the Skipper and is regularly used for corporate entertaining on the Thames.

  2. Perfect for summer parties on the river, Sailing Barge May has a wonderful open deck area – ideal for taking in the sights whilst sipping a chilled drink.
She has an attractive wood panelled saloon capable of seating up to 40 people for dinner and onboard facilities include a bar, plasma screen, stereo, and PA system. When cruising the Thames Tower Bridge opens exclusively for you and your guests!
